The TecnoCampus of Mataró has launched an innovative program to strengthen the digital skills of teachers. The initiative, called EDUX Innovació Digital Mataró, is part of the activities promoted by HUB4T, the university’s continuing training center. This program’s main objective is to become a leading platform in digital innovation, providing training and advice on the use and application of audiovisual technologies in the educational environment.

Specifically, the program is launched in eight centers in the city. “This is a good initiative to train teachers but it is also focused on the territory and has an impact on Mataró,” explains the academic coordinator of the project, Álex Araujo.

The EDUX innovació Digital program wants to contribute to developing the digital skills of the teachers of these centers in the media field. More than 100 teachers will participate in this initiative, which aims to promote innovation and improve digital skills in the educational field.

The project was selected in the call for digital promotion of education of the Department of Education of the Generalitat of Catalonia and has financing from the Next Generation fund, endowed with 134,800 euros.

The EDUX Innovació Digital program takes place over eight months and will offer hybrid, online and in-person training. Teachers will be able to train online in skills related to the areas of video, audio and interactives. In the intervention phase, TecnoCampus teachers will attend the centers to carry out face-to-face sessions.

In the first and third phases of the project, professional commitment is worked on, through the creation of a collaboration network between public and private centers in the city. In this sense, the different meetings proposed aim to define transversal collaboration platforms in the audiovisual field of the proposal, with the creation of a joint digital diary that allows working on both empowerment and the development of digital competence in students.

In the second phase, face-to-face interventions will be carried out in each center that will be accompanied by training that will allow working on digital content both from the point of view of research, creation and dissemination and from the perspective of application in the classroom through of various teaching and learning strategies.

The EDUX Digital Innovation Mataró Network includes the Public Administration, educational centers and the TecnoCampus). Its main objective is to promote, energize and support the transmission of knowledge and good practices in teaching in the digital field. It is based on three pillars: Learning Environments, Public-Private Collaboration and Digital Innovation Community.

The eight educational centers participating in this innovative program are Instituto Alexandre Satorras, Instituto les Cinc Sènies, Escola Pia Mataró, Fundación Privada GEM, INS Laia Arquera, INS Josep Puig i Cadafalch, Instituto Miquel Biada and Instituto Thos i Codina.

Each center has received an “audiovisual suitcase” that includes a series of equipment, such as video cameras, tripods, microphones, lighting and other elements necessary for the implementation of digital communication projects.
