Santa Susanna, the fourth tourist destination in Catalonia, has officially begun its path to carbon neutrality, becoming the first soy playa tourist destination to officially certify its carbon footprint in accordance with the international standard ISO 14064, with a scope that covers the entire of the life cycle of tourism activity.
Participating in the certificate delivery ceremony were Joan Campolier (Mayor of Santa Susanna), Enrique Martínez (President of SEGGITUR), Juan Luis Pozo (Director of Sustainability of Global Omnium), Nicolas Henríquez (Director of Business Development of AENOR) and Rafael Moreno (DTI Manager of the Santa Susanna City Council).

According to Juan Luis Pozo, Director of Sustainability of the Global Omnium Group, Santa Susanna not only becomes the first sun and beach tourist destination to officially certify its carbon footprint, but also advances in its firm purpose of sustainability “deeds and not words.” “, is what demonstrates the municipality’s commitment to the path towards neutrality.
