The Sant Adrià de Besòs City Council has denied the activity license to the Barcelona Beach Festival (BBF) alleging that the planned documents were not submitted on time.
According to the City Council, the organization of the festival, which was to be held on Saturday, July 2, would have presented after the deadline, on June 22, the mandatory and binding report of the General Directorate of Prevention, Fire Extinction and Rescue of the Generalitat to grant it. The law establishes that it must be delivered a maximum of fifteen working days before the start of the activity, that is, at the latest on June 10.
According to sources from the Department of the Interior, it is the Sant Adrià City Council, not the promoter company of the Live Nation Spain festival, who makes that request on the 22nd in the electronic registry of the ministry.
However, with the intention that the seventh edition of the event could be held, the consistory assures in a statement that it made the request for the report to the General Directorate of Prevention, Fire Extinction and Rescue, although it has finally been denied.
It is for this reason that, to guarantee the safety of the attendees and to comply with the regulations, the City Council alleges that it cannot grant the license to carry out this one-day summer festival that two days ago had already sold 25,000 tickets and that it expected to reach the 30,000 for this Saturday. At the moment, Live Nation, promoter of this musical event, has not commented on this matter. After 3:30 p.m. this Friday, you could still buy tickets.
The electronic music festival intended to return to the Fòrum beach and Parc de la Pau after two years of hiatus due to the pandemic. A few days ago, Pino Sagliocco, director of the BBF and president of the promoter Live Nation in Spain, assured this newspaper that “it is a joy to go back again to celebrate life with friends, with family. To feel the illusion again, the desire to celebrate and, above all, because this year we have a very special seventh edition in which Marshmello will finally come, who we have been following for a long time. Everyone likes him. He is the most important DJ in the world at the moment ”.
In addition to the American future bass, electronic and electrohouse producer and DJ, who will offer his only performance in Spain in Barcelona, ??the event brought together a luxury line-up that had already planned to perform at last year’s edition, including Armin Van Buuren. Dimitri Vegas
