The defense of the ex-minister Mónica Oltra has sent a letter to the Investigating Court 15 of Valencia in which she opposes a new extension -for 6 months- of the legal case in which she is being investigated for trying to hide, supposedly, a case of abuse of a minor under the supervision of the Generalitat for which her ex-husband was convicted.

In a letter to which EFE has had access, Oltra’s lawyers consider that none of the legal requirements contemplated for such an extension to be agreed and regret “the long and excessive duration of the investigation”, which they consider “procedural anomalies”.

If the extension and the secrecy of certain actions are maintained, they warn, “there is a risk of delving into a dynamic of a general cause and of a prospective nature that violates fundamental rights.”

Similar arguments were put forward by Oltra’s defense last October, before an extension was agreed that will last, at least, until the end of this month of April. The former vice president already declared before the judge in September of last year.

Instruction 15 investigates the role of Oltra and several of his closest collaborators in the Ministry of Equality to try to clarify their participation in the opening of an information file or confidential information with which they supposedly tried to hide the case or discredit the minor who suffered abuse by Oltra’s then husband, who was sentenced to five years in prison and whose sentence is expected to be reviewed by the Supreme Court.
