Girona City Council leads a project with European funds to create a comprehensive service that fights against all types of discrimination. In addition to the council, the University of Girona (UdG), the Ser.gi Foundation and the Girona Region of Knowledge Foundation participate.
The objective, underlines the Councilor for Equality, Amy Sabaly, is to move “towards a more inclusive society that is more guarantor of rights and freedoms.”
The project has received a subsidy of more than 330,000 euros, lasts two years and is carried out jointly with the Italian city of Reggio Emilia (twinned with Girona).
In the first phase, 400 people will be surveyed, attention will be offered to civic centers and the path of mediation will be promoted when dealing with and resolving cases.
