The Peñas or Montes del Duranguesado or Sierra de Anboto are part of the Urkiola Natural Park and are abrupt and enormous limestone rock formations that protrude between the valleys.

In La Vanguardia Readers’ Photos we can see these perspectives of the Eskubaratz and Untzillatx peaks surrounded by low clouds, lower than these peaks.

Untzillatx, 941 meters high, is an impressive calcareous mountain formed, like those around it, of very compact reef limestone.

Together with the Astxiki, it is part of the Atxarte gorge, between the Mendiola and Mañaria valleys. On its walls there are climbing routes, many of them classic and very important.

For its part, from the top of Eskubaratz, 1,003 meters high, we will dominate the entire Gorbeia massif, Legarmendi and the Arratia Valley.
