Camarero highlights the joint work in favor of policies for children and adolescents

The Minister of Social Services, Equality and Housing, Susana Camarero, has highlighted the important work carried out by the regional network of local Councils for Children and Adolescents, which has “70 municipalities and the participation of 1,654 girls, boys and adolescents who work together in this sector through active policies”.

From the Ministry, he stated, we will continue to support “own spaces” for children, and for this reason “we support the actions promoted by the Valencian municipalities to encourage the active participation of boys, girls and adolescents with concrete dissemination actions, promotion and defense of their rights”.

The second vice president also attended the event organized by the Department of Equality, the Valencia City Council and 20 entities in the sector with an extensive program of recreational and educational events to celebrate the Universal Day of Children and Adolescence, which will be celebrated next Monday, November 20.

In his speech, he pointed out the importance of celebrating this day to “make known and make visible” the rights of children and adolescents and “raise people’s awareness of working every day for their well-being and development.”

In relation to child and adolescent participation, Susana Camarero has referred to the two autonomous bodies, the Council for Children and Adolescents of the Valencian Community and the Child and Adolescent Council of the Protection System, established “to make effective the right to their voice be heard and taken into account in all those policies that affect them”, and he thanked “all the work they are doing to begin to walk in these spaces of participation and debate.”

In this sense, he pointed out that, shortly, “meeting forums, exchange of experiences and meetings between all the children’s councilors of our Community will be promoted to enrich the work that is being carried out in many municipalities.”

Likewise, the second vice president has taken the opportunity to recognize the effort and work being carried out by the Ministry regarding foster care as a measure that “helps cover several of the basic rights of boys and girls who are in a situation of vulnerability”.

Finally, he has reiterated his commitment to continue with actions aimed at implementing childhood policies that “guarantee the rights of boys, girls and adolescents” and has called on Valencian society to be “aware, knowledgeable and defender of these rights”.

Under the motto ‘Don’t be silenced, you have your rights’, the day included various stands where workshops, games and activities related to some of the rights included in the Law on Children and Adolescents of the Valencian Community were held.

The setting of the day has been inspired by the theme of the board game on the rights of children and adolescents ‘Emmudiks attack’, so that each participating child and adolescent has represented a hero or heroine who had to defeat the monsters who want to attack the rights included in the Law.

The celebration also featured La Colla en Ruta de À Punt and performances by various artists such as Tin Robots, with their Play Beatles for kids concert, DJ Butoni and Marcel el Marcià, among others; projection screens, stands of the organizing and collaborating entities, delivery of souvenirs and merchandising and distribution of water and fruit.

Together with the Second Vice Presidency and Department of Social Services, Equality and Housing and the Valencia City Council, this year the entities of Save the Children, Impuls, Asociación Quera, AAAFEXA CV, Kumpania, Emafi, Nueva Infancia participate in the organization of the events. , Red Cross, APNADAH, ANAR, Unicef ??CV, AVAF, Fanucova, School Council, Cáritas, À Punt, the Council of Childhood and Adolescence of the Valencian Community and the Children and Adolescents Council of the Protection System of the Valencian Community
