The Mossos d’Esquadra have arrested five people in an operation in which they have dismantled a group that committed fifteen very violent robberies in telephone and money transfer stores, mostly run by members of the Pakistani community, in Badalona and Santa Coloma de Gramenet (Barcelona Nord).

As reported by the Catalan police in a statement on Wednesday, the detainees, who obtained in their beatings a loot of about 140,000 euros in cash and fifty mobile phones and computers, acted in an “extremely” violent way and used firearms and very harmful manufactured weapons to assault the premises.

The violence in the robberies put the Mossos on alert, who investigated the gang starting last February, although there is evidence that they operated as a group since the end of 2022.

The organization, whose leader has been arrested, had a very defined structure, so that the roles were very delimited to share the material authorship of the robbery, the sale of the stolen objects and the sale of the cash that they took from the establishments. .

Some Pakistani media echoed this wave of assaults on premises run by their compatriots in Badalona and Santa Coloma de Gramenet, since the members of this community felt threatened when they found out that they were the main targets of this group, according to the Mossos .

After months of investigation, the Mossos arrested five of the suspects last Monday and searched nine premises and homes, in which they recovered firearms and very harmful manufactured weapons, 7,600 euros in cash, as well as hashish and marijuana.

The investigation, supervised by the investigation court number 4 of Badalona, ??is still open, to try to arrest other alleged members of the organization.
