The police in the Netherlands have reported that the four people who were kidnapped during the hostage taking this Saturday in a pub in the city of Ede have been released. In addition, the suspect of having carried out the kidnapping has been arrested.

Firstly, a group of three hostages have been released, as announced by the Dutch Police through the social network last hostage, along with the arrest of the suspect of having carried out the kidnapping.

This morning, the Police have ruled out “for the moment” that there was any terrorist motivation behind this incident, although they have not given any other details about the reasons for the kidnapping.

The hostage taking took place in the Petticoat pub, a popular cocktail bar that opens at dawn in the city of Ede, located in the center of the Netherlands.

The police have deployed specialized units around the premises, cordoned off the area around the site and evacuated around 150 homes in the area.

Now, the security forces are investigating inside and outside the premises to clarify what happened, as reported by Dutch public radio and television NOS, and maintain the police cordon in the vicinity of the pub.
