A 28-year-old man was arrested this morning in Bilbao for allegedly killing an 89-year-old woman, who according to sources familiar with the investigation was his great-aunt. The victim was found dead in a home and had injuries caused by a knife.

The man has approached a citizen protection patrol of the Ertzaintza around midnight and has indicated that he had stabbed a family member at a home located in the Santutxu neighborhood, in Bilbao, as reported by the Basque Department of Security .
