A woman, about 54 years old, was murdered this Friday in the municipality of Aldea del Rey, in Ciudad Real, in a case of sexist violence, and her husband is already detained, as sources from the Civil Guard have informed EFE.
In addition, the 112 emergency service of Castilla-La Mancha has reported that the notice was received at 9:55 a.m. this Friday, from a home on Padre Jara street, in Aldea del Rey. Agents from the Local Police, the Civil Guard and an emergency doctor have traveled to the scene of the event.
The number of women murdered in Spain, since records began in 2003, would amount to 1,245. Five of the crimes of sexist violence have occurred this year. In the last few hours, the murder of a woman at the hands of her partner in Olot has also become known.
The mayor of Aldea del Rey, Cándido Barba, has regretted the news of the sexist murder suffered by this town of 1,500 inhabitants, a “sad” day and news that is “difficult to digest.” In statements to the media from the town, he confirmed that the murderer, a native of the town, was the one who notified the Civil Guard. The couple was alone at the time of the events and there was no record of previous complaints of cases of abuse and, as the mayor confirms, they were “well-known” people, natives of the town.
The concern now turns to the state of the child, who was at school at the time of death and who was not informed until recess time, by one of his uncles and a specialized psychologist.
The deceased woman leaves a brother and “elderly” parents. “They were normal, peaceful people…”, the mayor insisted. The body remains at the home and the City Council will hold an extraordinary plenary session to determine measures to be adopted in relation to the event.
