A two-story building has collapsed this Wednesday in the Barcelona town of Sitges, as reported by the Generalitat Fire Department, who are working with 15 crews among the rubble to verify that there are no fatalities.

According to the Bombers tweet, the affected building is next to some works on Avenida Artur Carbonell in the popular coastal town. In addition, they add that all the operators who worked on the aforementioned work “are outside” and that the first information indicates that there was no one in the place.

As the ACN agency has learned, it is an old building and the cordoned off area remains. In addition to the Fire Department, the SEM has also been sent for prevention. The works took place on an empty lot where a new block was planned. Previously on the site was the old Casa Julian, which had been demolished in a controlled manner.
