The Urban Police is trying to find out who or who have recently been leaving croquettes and sausages stuffed with nails and needles on the streets, squares and parks of the Sant Andreu district with no other objective than to kill dogs. Unfortunately, at least in one case they achieved this purpose. Three other dogs, at least, were also victims of these heartless. Fortunately, they managed to survive.
Echoing the growing concern of the neighborhood unleashed in these neighbourhoods, the municipal groups of Junts and ERC raised this issue yesterday in the City Council Presidency commission. The Deputy Mayor for Safety and Prevention, Albert Batlle, explained in his response that the municipal police are currently investigating the origin of these food traps recently found in the Pegaso and Antoni Santiburcio parks, on the streets of São Paulo, Peronella and Roine, and also on the premises of the Fabra i Coats factory. The deputy mayor for Security himself added that a neighbor filed a complaint after his dog ingested a needle in the surroundings of La Maquinista. In addition, the Urban Guard learned of another three cases.
“We demand that the investigations in this regard be strengthened,” said Jordi Coronas, the Republican spokesman. The intervention of plainclothes agents is necessary to find those responsible for these events. For his part, from the ranks of Junts, the mayor Jordi Martí Galbis also asked the government of Mayor Ada Colau to provide the Urban Police with the necessary resources to reach the end of this matter. “It is not a minor issue,” he added.
