The second edition of the ‘Food

These Food and Wine Magazine Awards were created to celebrate culinary experiences that evoke the true flavor of places around the world, from cocktails and appetizers to meals and desserts. To choose the winners, the organization has contacted 180 food and travel journalists, whose nominations of restaurants, bars, bakeries, markets, cities, hotels, airports, airlines and cruise ships have subsequently been judged by a group of experts.

About Dos Pebrots they say that “eating at this tapas bar in the Raval is like a history lesson in Mediterranean cuisine.” In fact, this was the desire of Albert Raurich and Tamae Imachi when they opened it at the end of 2016: to discover the gastronomic origins of the Mediterranean.

The American magazine has also highlighted that Dos Pebrots “delves into the past, using ingredients such as garum – the anchovy-based sauce used in ancient Rome – and being inspired by the recipes of the ancient Greeks and Etruscans.”

Dos Pebrots took a turn at the end of 2019 after the association of Raurich and Imachi with Takeshi Domekawa and Adri de Pablo – current chefs and front of house managers respectively. After overcoming the pandemic, the restaurant opted for less risky preparations with more presence of whole pieces, such as grilled wild sea bass al pil pil or grilled Galician blonde txuletón “txoguitxu”.
