The Ibiza airport runway has recovered activity after more than four hours paralyzed due to a “technical problem” of a Lufthansa company plane from Frankfurt, Germany.

The Ibizan airport has paralyzed its takeoffs and landings this Saturday afternoon because a damaged plane has blocked the landing strip, so Aena has closed the airport’s activity until 7:15 p.m. for security reasons.

Aircraft departure and entry operations have suffered cancellations and diversions. For this reason, the terminal has collapsed with passengers who were mostly on the ground and many of them have complained to the press microphones about the lack of information. “It was on the next plane. At the time of the breakdown, they told us that it would be resolved in half an hour,” said an affected passenger.

Aena does not currently know the number of operations affected due to the technical problem suffered by this plane. There have also been no injuries reported due to the technical failure of the aircraft. According to the forecasts for this Saturday, the Eivissa airport expected to manage a total of 312 landings and takeoffs.
