The tenth edition of La Voz on Antena 3 culminated this Friday with a final that promised and more than delivered, returning strongly after a brief hiatus due to the Constitution Bridge. Thus, viewers witnessed a close final with four exceptional talents seeking to be crowned the new voice of Spain:  Pablo Verdeguer representing Pablo López, Elsa Tortonda under the direction of Luis Fonsi, as well as Miguel Carrasco and Nereida Sanchón from the team by Antonio Orozco.

Finally, it was Tortonda, a 19-year-old singer from Badajoz, who emerged as the champion of La Voz 2023. Carrasco finished in a creditable second place, while Nereida and Pablo fell just short. “Thank you, thank you, I have many things to say. Above all, thanks to the people who voted for me. Thanks to Fonsi for having trusted me from the first moment. Thanks to my family, my parents, my grandparents, my town. I don’t believe it,” said the winner after her victory.

In this way, the young contestant joins the list of winners of La Voz, which already included Rafa Blas, David Barrul, Antonio José, Irene Caruncho, Alba Gil, Andrés Martín, Kelly Isaiah, Inés Manzano and Javier Crespo.

Furthermore, Elsa Tortonda’s victory in La Voz 2023 is not only a personal achievement, but also represents a triumph for Luis Fonsi, who for the first time becomes champion in the Spanish format of the contest.

Tortonda has traveled an impressive path in the world of music. He began his musical training at the age of 4, learning music, music theory, singing and guitar. Her first career on the La Voz stage was in La Voz Kids, where she was part of Melendi’s team in the fourth edition, reaching the battles.

Five years later, he returned to The Voice, this time in the adult version, where from his initial acoustic audition with Volare, he stood out for his exceptional talent. Throughout the contest, Tortonda continued to impress with his performances, including Although You Don’t Know It by Los Secretos and Vas a Querte by Aitana, demonstrating his ability to connect emotionally with each song. Tortonda, in the grand final, conquered the audience and the jury with his interpretation of When Nobody Sees Me by Alejandro Sanz, a version that ended up tipping the balance in his favor.

With his record deal with Universal Music already secured, Tortonda is preparing to take the next steps in what promises to be a brilliant career. For the moment, along with the other three finalists, she will be part of the staff of the WAH musical show in Madrid.
