Whatsapp continues to expand its functionalities, and after adding channels, statuses and temporarily fixed messages, it has now opted for another new option related to voice messages that are so widely used on the Meta platform.

Specifically, the new WhatsApp function consists of being able to send voice messages to be listened to only once, as is the case with photos and videos that can only be viewed once and then are completely blocked.

The idea is to be able to send confidential audios or those that are not intended to be forwarded to third parties, if there is a fear that its content may be risky or there is no confidence in the possibility that the recipient will not pass it on to others.

To do this, you will only have to open WhatsApp normally, go to the chat where you want to send the voice message and hold down the record audio button. At that point, you will only have to select the icon with the number 1 above the send button.

However, the recipient will be able to see that the audio can only be heard once, just like images and videos, and then it will be automatically deleted from the recipient’s phone, thus preventing them from listening to it again or passing it on to others.

Some details to keep in mind are that these messages cannot be forwarded or saved, in addition to the fact that if the recipient does not open them within 7 days, they will be automatically deleted and can never be listened to, so it is important to keep in mind that they are more instant.
