The RFEF and LaLiga have agreed to publish the conversations between the referees and the VAR when a play is reviewed on the monitor. The dialogue between the referee and the VOR room will not be available live during the match, but will be available to the official television operators once the competition day ends.
This novelty, which aims to give transparency to refereeing and the sometimes controversial use of technology, will debut in the next edition of the Spanish Super Cup that will take place in Saudi Arabia between January 10 and 14. In this way, he could debut, if there are plays reviewed by video refereeing, in the semifinal match between Real Madrid and Atlético.
The conversations between the referees will come to the EA Sports League starting on matchday 20, the first of the second round, which will be played between January 12 and 15. On those same dates it will also debut in the Second Division Hypermotion League.
“With the broadcast of the images and audios, the experience of the fans will be improved and a greater understanding of the refereeing decisions by the viewers will be promoted, thus improving the competitions as a whole,” the RFEF reported.
The audios and images of the VOR room have been published in dribs and drabs since the arrival of technology to Spanish football in the 2018-19 season. The dialogues have been shown in an exceptional way, especially in the first season of VAR in Spain, as was the case of the Real Madrid-Real Sociedad de Liga in 2019 or the Camp Nou classic in 2018.
