I captured this photograph at sunset in Cubelles just on my birthday, because I love both photography and sunsets, two hobbies merged in this image that we see in La Vanguardia’s Readers’ Photos.

Cubelles, located 50 km from the Catalan capital, is the last coastal town in the province of Barcelona and the Garraf region on the southern side and is located 40 km from Tarragona.

One of its great attractions is undoubtedly the beaches, with Mota de Sant Pere, Les Salines and Les Gavines, which, in total, make up three kilometers of coastline.

In the photograph we can see the last breath of daylight from the Mediterranean Sea saying goodbye to another day under a sky in which the trace of the darkness of the night, which is about to fall, is beginning to be discovered.

The orange sky responds to the glare that occurs with the setting of the sun. It is a meteorological phenomenon in which the clouds in the sky show a wide palette of colors ranging from pink to the most intense orange.

The candilazo is also known as arrebol, which is the red color seen in clouds illuminated by the sun’s rays, especially at dawn and in the evening.
