Animal abuse and abandonment are increasingly persecuted, but unfortunately there are still dog owners who leave them outdoors or without the necessary care and without caring about their survival.
This is what happened to this Golden Retriever who lived in a building in the Palermo neighborhood (Buenos Aires), where he was alone without food or drink for several days under the expectant gaze of his neighbors, who thought that someone was looking after him at night.
However, a young neighbor of the property decided to rescue the dog, seeing its deterioration when she saw that the owner of the house did not return and the animal could only wait for the charity of others by waiting for food and water from the windows.
“I could not believe what I was seeing. The little dog was skinny, all dirty and the whole house was a mess. I don’t want to judge anyone, but how can a person abandon an animal like that? I can’t find reasons for it,” explains Diana Surace, the heroine of this story.
Fortunately, a team of firefighters was able to approach the yard where the dog was to come to its rescue: “I was a little scared because I didn’t know how the animal was going to react. At first she growled at him, but soon with the water and food she became friendly again. And that way we were able to save him,” remembers Diana.
“Luckily the firefighter who rescued him from the department is going to adopt him. She is going to send a veterinarian to do the first checkups. It is necessary to deworm him and control the issue of vaccines, because we know little about how he spent these 4 years,” explains Diana.
