The Cabrils City Council (Maresme) has been demanding new health equipment for years. The current office, made up of prefabricated modules, was installed in 2008 on the grounds of Can Batalló, with the clear intention of being a temporary facility.
Since then, there have been numerous efforts by the City Council to achieve the construction of a new CAP, which came to fruition in 2022, with the inclusion of the construction of the building in the Budgets of the Generalitat, as announced by the Minister of Health, Manel Balcells and Diaz, during the visit he made last April to Cabrils.
Once the administrative procedures have been launched, last week the construction of the work was awarded to the company Gruas, a Catalan construction company that has already built other primary care centers, and today, with the presence of the mayor and the councilor of Urban Planning, have made the first visit to the field.
The new CAP building will have an area of ??836 square meters spread over the ground floor, where the healthcare spaces will be, and the first floor, with space for medical and administrative staff. With a sustainable design, it will have nine consultation rooms around an interior patio for citizen care with two independent entrances and a sectorized space to be able to treat, if necessary, respiratory diseases. About 50 photovoltaic panels will be installed on its roof to power the equipment. The works are expected to begin during the month of February and will last approximately 14 months.
