The mother of supermodel Gisele Bündchen, Vânia Nonnenmacher, died on January 28 at the age of 75 after failing to overcome the cancer she suffered from. According to the Brazilian media GZH, the mother of the famous mannequin had been hospitalized for several weeks in a hospital undergoing treatment, where she finally died.

It was the hospital itself that was responsible for issuing a statement about the death of the model’s mother, although at no time were more details given about the woman’s condition or illness. “The Moinhos de Vento Hospital announces the death of Vânia Maria Nonnenmacher Bündchen this Sunday (28) due to cancer. At 75 years old, she was admitted to the Moinhos de Vento Hospital on January 26.”

Gisele Bündchen’s relatives did not take long to react through their social media profiles. Vânia Nonnenmacher, retired for years, lived dedicated to and for her family. In addition to the model, the woman was the mother of five other daughters: Rafaela, Graziela, Gabriela, Raquel and Patricia, Gisele’s twin sister.

The model was very close to her mother, who was also responsible for her successful career. Being just a teenager, Gisele wanted to be a voileball player, but her mother enrolled her in a modeling course with two of her sisters that would change her life forever, because once she finished the course, the important Elite Model agency signed her while I was walking through a shopping center.

The model has not spoken at this delicate moment, but it is known that the wake for her mother took place on Monday, January 29, in the Ecumenical Chapel of the Metropolitan Crematorium of Porto Alegre from eight in the morning. Later, at noon, her entire family will gather to say goodbye to her.

Since last September, the model has been more aware of her family than ever. Just last fall, her entire family met in Brazil and took the opportunity to spend a few days together. Thus, all of them posed, very smiling: “Always in my hearts and prayers,” writes the model next to the carousel of images, which she accompanies with a heart emoji.

This is one of the few – and last – images that are public and of the entire family, since each one lives on one side of the world. Now, the model has always assured that they maintain very frequent contact. On New Year’s, they met again.

“Reconnecting with the essential,” Gisele wrote on Instagram. “Sending love and wishing a happy and blessed 2024 to everyone.”
