Pablo Motos has become one of the unexpected protagonists of the world of television in Spain. The Requena presenter went viral after a controversial interview with Sofía Vergara, which was filled with sharp and rude exchanges that filled covers, articles and messages on social networks. However, the Valencian had denounced another situation that caught the attention of the media: the absence of Jorge Salvador.
The executive producer of El Hormiguero was one of the notable names last week on the program due to his absence, after moving to Miami with the intention of collecting the Rose d’Or Latino award for best variety program. An escape on the part of the co-responsible for the format that annoyed his colleague, jokingly telling her that he had shied away from his duties to be in the United States all week.
This Monday, Salvador returned to the program with the statuette, which already decorates the set of San Sebastián de los Reyes. However, his return to Spain did not go unnoticed in the first minutes of broadcast, before the entrance of the main guest of the day, Goyo Jiménez. Motos took the microphone out for a walk to reproach the producer for his absence, which had a very important excuse: he was not on the beach, but doing business.
As head of El Hormiguero, El Desafío and El Camino a Casa, Salvador covered two events during his stay in the capital of Florida: the Rose d’Or awards gala, where the three spaces were nominated for different categories, and also the Content Americas fair, held at the Miami Downtown Hilton hotel between January 23 and 25. It is one of the most important television production events in the United States and Latin America.
There, Salvador has been negotiating different agreements as producer of 7yAcción, and from there two very interesting agreements have emerged for the Spanish and Latin American public. Firstly, El Desafío could reach 10 South American countries if the negotiations come to fruition, and then the sale of 200 El Hormiguero programs for the United States has also been confirmed, with Pablo Motos himself as presenter.
Even so, the man from Requena was left with the particular way his teammate had of leaving, almost without warning. As he told it, he dropped his trip on him out of the blue, a few minutes before starting one of the rehearsals. Despite these quarrels, the good dynamic of both behind the scenes has allowed the scope of El Hormiguero to expand, which will now compete with illustrious presenters such as Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel, Stephen Colbert or Seth Meyers.
