The Department of Fallas will raffle 380 passes to see the mascletà from the balcony of the Valencia City Council. 10 invitations will be drawn, each for two people, from March 1 to March 19, Saint Joseph’s Day. People of legal age registered in the city of Valencia who have previously requested it through the form published on the City Council website will be able to participate in the draw.
The registration period begins on Monday, February 19, at 00:00 a.m. and ends on Wednesday, February 21, at 11:59 p.m. The draw will take place on Monday, February 26, at 11 a.m., in the municipal press room. The winners will receive an email from the Valencia City Council with confirmation of the appointment and, subsequently, the invitations. The invitations will be for a specific day and the date cannot be changed. In the event that one of the winners has reduced mobility and needs to access it with a wheelchair, and given the circumstances of the municipal balcony, they will be placed in another space of the Town Hall.
The councilor of Fallas, Santiago Ballester, has expressed the desire “that all citizens registered in the city have the option of watching the mascletà from the municipal balcony, if they wish. For this reason, the draw will be carried out publicly and with all transparency.” According to the councilor, “the festival belongs to everyone and we know that anyone who loves the Fallas likes to have the opportunity to see the mascletà from a place as special as the municipal balcony. Therefore, we are sure that we will receive many requests.”
