Laura Escanes is fed up with the Catalanophobia that some Internet users profess. This Tuesday, the influencer and presenter said enough after a follower of hers threatened to stop following her for the simple fact of speaking in Catalan in one of her videos.

Whenever Escanes publishes a video in Catalan, she receives comments asking her to do it in Spanish so they can understand her. In some cases, however, her request goes beyond her and becomes an unpleasant reproach against her simply because it is expressed in her language.

Today’s case is also blatant: the video was subtitled in Spanish. And, furthermore, it was intended for the Catalan-speaking public because it announced that the second season of La travessa, a TV3 program, is already being prepared, in which “new places in Catalonia will be discovered.”

But, apparently, a follower (who is called Carmina) found it out of place that Laura Escanes published a video in Catalan (even if it was subtitled in Spanish) about a program produced in Catalonia and also broadcast in Catalan. “If you continue speaking in Catalan, I will stop following you,” she told him.

Well, the presenter did not bite her tongue and responded (now, in Spanish, so that everyone could understand): “I feel very heavy with this topic, but it is my way of letting off steam,” she said in a second story in which he had a fun filter “to bring intensity to the subject.”

Laura Escanes has been direct: “I have subtitled a video. Other times I do it only in Catalan, others first in Catalan and then in Spanish… Girl, Carmina, my daughter of my life, what’s wrong with you?” He has launched. It is not the first time that the presenter has to respond to someone like this… and everything suggests that it will not be the last.
