The Complutense University of Madrid (UCM) has suspended the teaching activities of the Faculty of Geography and History this Friday due to the death of a student, as reported by sources from the university center to Europa Press.
The events took place yesterday morning. Apparently, the young woman from her second degree fell from the window of the Faculty building. Samur-Civil Protection paramedics treated her and took her to the Clinical Hospital. Finally, she died at the hospital, the same sources report.
The UCM and the National Police have opened an investigation. From the university center they have detailed that at first the classes of the student’s group of classmates were suspended. On the recommendation of psychologists, they have decided to cancel all teaching activities as a sign of mourning. Likewise, they have assured that psychological care has been offered to both students and teachers.
On the other hand, the university has reported in a statement that next Monday, March 4, they will hold a minute of silence, at 1:00 p.m., to show “their affection” to the classmate and her family at the main entrance of the Faculty. .
