National Police agents have arrested a 38-year-old man of Senegalese nationality who allegedly left two children, ages 3 and 4, who were in his care, alone in a house in Puente de Vallecas to go buy a car.

The events occurred around 8:30 p.m. on the 16th at a home on Junta Navarro Street, in the aforementioned district of Puente de Vallecas, as police sources have informed Europa Press.

The two minors were in the care of this man while their parents were working, but he left the house for several hours, leaving the children alone, to buy a vehicle.

Agents on horseback observed these two minors trying to climb the railing of the second-story balcony and entered the house, thanks to one of the minors opening the door for them. Upon verifying that they were without adult supervision, they contacted the parents, who informed them that the minors were in the care of a relative, since they were working.

When this relative returned to the home, he told the agents that he had left almost two hours ago because he had arranged to buy a vehicle. The man, who has no criminal record, was arrested as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of breach of the duty of custody, and was subsequently brought to justice.
