Daniel Sancho faces a decisive moment in his life. On August 29, the judge will decide his fate in the case of the murder of Colombian surgeon Edwin Arrieta in Thailand. Sancho, detained since August last year, remains in Koh Samui prison, awaiting this important decision.
Although there have been fears of a possible death penalty, it seems that the gastronomic influencer is not having a bad time in prison. As revealed in ¡De Viernes!, Rodolfo Sancho’s son has evidently favored treatment compared to other inmates.
In an exclusive interview with the sister of one of his cellmates, it has emerged that Sancho has achieved certain freedoms and luxuries in his daily life. Thus, he is allowed to sleep on a bed with a mattress, unlike other prisoners who must lie on the floor, and has access to outside food, such as fried eggs and bottled mineral water, something unusual within the prison system.
In addition, the young man has organized dinners with quality food for his colleagues on special occasions, such as New Year’s Eve. Curiously, despite having no apparent medical needs, Sancho is housed in the nursing module.
This placement is not due to health problems, but rather to his influence and economic capacity, which exempt him from carrying out the mandatory tasks assigned to other inmates, thus facilitating a less strict and more comfortable regime.
Additionally, Sancho’s free time has not only helped him strengthen ties with other inmates, but he has also taken the opportunity to learn some Thai, increasing his ability to communicate with his peers. Furthermore, as stated in ¡De Viernes!, he receives frequent visits from the embassy, ??a privilege that is not granted to other Spanish prisoners in similar situations.
