Keir Johnston, who became known as the author of the photo of what is considered the most viral dress in history (the one that some users saw as white and gold and others as blue and black), has confessed to having abused his wife and trying to strangle her.
Johnston, who visited several television sets almost a decade ago following the viral success of the famous garment, has admitted to mistreating his partner almost a year after being arrested and charged with attempted murder. Some events that occurred on March 6, 2022 on the island of Colonsay in the Inner Hebrides Islands (Scotland) and from which several details have already emerged.
In his new statement, the Scot has claimed to have beaten Grace Johnston in which he grabbed her by the neck to try to strangle her, threatened her with a knife after having pinned her to the ground and hit her several times.
During this attack, and as reported by The Guardian, the man expressed a forceful phrase: “Someone is going to die.” Something that happened after spending the night drinking in bars.
In the report, the prosecutor states that “he followed her and pinned her to the ground. She placed both knees on her arms, so she couldn’t move. He then began to strangle her with both hands.” Keir also threatened her with a knife and Grace managed to dial the emergency number. “My husband is trying to kill me,” she said at the time.
During the trial, not only everything that happened that day came to light, but also the history of abuse that the woman herself recounted and that she claimed to have suffered for 11 years at the hands of her husband. “I am afraid, Mr. Johnston, that his situation has changed: he has been convicted of a very serious crime and, in the meantime, he will remain in preventive detention,” said the judge, leaving the trial for sentencing on June 6. .
