Badalona will have two new deputies in the Parliament of Catalonia. These are councilors Rosa del Amo and Juan Fernandez, a circumstance that the PSC spokesperson, Fernando Carrera, considers may be detrimental to his work at the head of the City Council councils, which is why he calls for an urgent remodeling of the local executive. .
The president of the PSC municipal group considers that Del Amo and Fernández will reduce their work in Badalona (Barcelonès Nord), as councilors in the City Council, because being a deputy implies dedicating a number of hours a week.
For Carrera, “the city needs a strong government, with exclusive dedication to Badalona, ??and the current PP government is not delivering.” In fact, the president of the socialist municipal group has recalled that the current second deputy mayor, Cristina Agüera, is also a deputy in the Spanish Parliament and every week she must leave Badalona to be able to be in Madrid.
“We have a half-baked government, because almost all the deputy mayors have positions outside of Badalona.” Carrera concluded by calling for an urgent remodeling of the municipal government, “There are 18 councilors to be able to remodel the government and for the deputy mayors to have exclusive dedication to Badalona.”
The municipal government has not issued any response to the PSC’s critical note, but at the individual level, the Councilor for Communication, Rosa del Amo, has stressed that “the mayor knows perfectly well the decision he must make for Badalona, ??as has always been the case. demonstrated.”
