Stowaway Causes Disturbance on Flight to Paris, Stays in France

A stowaway woman who managed to board a Delta Air Lines flight from New York to Paris earlier this week has caused a disturbance that led to her remaining in France, as reported by two law enforcement sources. The woman was removed from the return flight to the United States before takeoff in Paris, leaving her stranded in France for the time being.

Security Breach at Charles de Gaulle Airport

Before attempting to board the plane bound for the US, the woman had been in a waiting zone at Charles de Gaulle Airport, known as ZAPI, for individuals awaiting deportation due to not meeting the conditions for entering Europe. Investigators are now working to determine how she managed to get past multiple security checkpoints at New York’s JFK International Airport and board the flight to Paris. It is believed that she hid in the aircraft’s bathrooms during the journey.

Delta Air Lines and TSA Response

The stowaway did not possess a boarding pass but still completed a security screening and evaded two identity verification and boarding status stations to board the Delta Air Lines aircraft. The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) confirmed the security breach and is investigating the incident. Delta Air Lines has also initiated its own investigation, emphasizing the importance of safety and security in air travel.

Passenger Account of the Incident

New York City real estate broker Rob Jackson, a passenger on the Delta flight, revealed that passengers were instructed to remain seated after landing in Paris while police boarded the plane to address the security issue. Despite not personally witnessing the stowaway, he shared that she had hidden in a lavatory at the rear of the aircraft during departure from JFK Airport. French police were alerted upon arrival in Paris, prompting the response to the security breach.

As authorities work to resolve the situation and determine the appropriate course of action for the stowaway, concerns regarding airport security and passenger safety have been raised. The incident serves as a reminder of the vigilance required to maintain the integrity of air travel and ensure the well-being of all passengers and crew members.
