First Dates welcomes a very heterogeneous group of people to its restaurant every day. While some go to live the experience and see what comes of their dates, others come to the program presented by Carlos Sobera with the clear intention of meeting ”the love of their life”.
Manuela, ‘Noni’, has arrived at the place with great enthusiasm. The Andalusian living in Catalonia has defined herself as a ”charismatic and mysterious woman” and has declared that she does not think about them, but rather she blurts out the first thing that comes to her mind. ”I’m a bit of a witch,” she added.
Noni has not had much luck in love and now she is looking for a “crazy” person who is compatible with her, a rude man “who will pin her against the wall”, a “big guy” who is a good person.
On this occasion, a 51-year-old truck mechanic named Toni has been chosen to have dinner with the woman who lives in Reus. The single man has acknowledged that he has never had romantic relationships, something that does not worry him too much either.
Throughout the meeting, the couple enjoyed a pleasant and relaxed atmosphere. At one point, the man made his companion burst into laughter by telling her that, if it weren’t for his hair and age, he would be very similar to the ”Estopa singer”.
They are both united by the world of motors (although he is not passionate about cars), but they have found a discordant point in the way they dress. ”His aesthetics are too suggestive for my taste. It’s not necessary,” the bachelor declared.
The woman submitted to the appointment and confessed that she has had sexual fantasies with people of the same gender, a question to which he responded negatively. ”It’s very basic. For me, it’s very basic. I’m not so basic, I’m more hardcore,” Noni expressed.
When it comes time to pay, the singles have agreed to split the bill in half. That’s when the mechanic was shocked to see that he had forgotten the money for dinner. To get out of the situation, the girl decided to pay everything generously, but later she opened up in the confessional: ”You have turned out, my son… and in addition to being basic, you have turned out like an ass.”
In the final decision, the two have agreed that they do not ‘work’ together because they are very different and that they have not felt that special ‘something’, but they have agreed to meet again as friends for a beer.
