A Kinderhook woman is charged with robbing a Wolf Road store, police said.
Marilyn F. Olshena, 56, was arrested Monday in connection with the robbery Oct. 17 at the Déja Vu store at 145 Wolf Road.
The robber entered the store at 11:27 a.m. that day, approached the register and demanded $300, police said at the time. She made a motion under her coat that appeared to indicate she had a weapon, though none was displayed.
The clerk handed over approximately $174, and the suspect fled on foot.
Although police had released surveillance images from that robbery, it did not generate any leads to identify a suspect. When police read media reports on Olshena being arrested Jan. 4 for similar crimes in Columbia County, police said, it led to her being investigated for the Colonie case.
Colonie Police Department Investigators Michelle Crowley and Greg Heider worked with investigators from the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office. A warrant was issued for Olshena, and she was brought from the Columbia County Jail to be arraigned. She was then returned to the Columbia County Jail.
In the Colonie case, Olshena is charged with a felony county of robbery and a misdemeanor charge of petit larceny.
