HALFMOON — A town woman hit a state trooper with her car door Tuesday as she tried to drive away while police were investigating her for stealing from a gas station, State Police said.
Jessie Kowalski was charged with assault, reckless endangerment, unlawful fleeing of a police officer, petit larceny and driving with ability impaired, State Police said.
The trooper suffered a lower body injury when Kowalski backed away as police began to surround her car at the gas station, State Police said. Another trooper was hit in the leg by the moving car, troopers said.
