Katharine Hepburn’s former Connecticut estate is back on the market.
Located in Old Saybrook, Conn., at 10 Mohegan Ave., it’s asking $11.8 million — down from its $14.8 million asking price in 2014.
The three-story, 8,400-square-foot house, which sits on 1.5 acres, has six bedrooms and overlooks a private pond and golf course. It also has a private dock — the Hamptons are an hour away by boat — and 220 feet fronting the Long Island Sound. Built in 1939, it was renovated in 2005.
The parcel is one of two that made up Hepburn’s original property. Developer Frank Sciame, who owns both parcels, already has the second — a beach house on 1.3 acres at 6 Mohegan Ave. — on the market for $5.88 million. That’s down from its $6.88 million asking price in 2015. At 3,800 square feet, that property features three bedrooms, four decks overlooking the Long Island Sound, the Connecticut River, a pond and a golf course, 200 feet fronting the Sound, and approval rights for a private dock.
Sciame is also the co-owner of a nearby landmarked lighthouse, as The Post previously reported.
Visitors can land seaplanes in front of the properties, as aviator Howard Hughes did in the 1930s and 1940s, notes the brokerage firm.
The listing broker for both parcels is William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty Essex’s Colette Harron.
