advisory firm Cowi was otherwise reached, that the cykelbroen could be built for 26 million dollars including rådgiverbistand, which lokalpolitikerne had said yes to.
But the new calculations and an unsuccessful offer has shown, that the price will be completely different.
all in All, the actual construction of the bridge will be 20 million more expensive than provided in Cowi calculations, and the total bill for the project will end at around 53 million dollars, so it is completely unrealistic to establish the bridge, as it stands, says Esbjerg’s mayor, Jesper Frost Rasmussen (V), to the Jutland west Coast.
He calls the collaboration with Cowi for ‘unsatisfactory and disappointing’.
Cowi head of press, Charlotte Holm, says to the jv.dk:
‘It is a really annoying situation for the Municipality of Esbjerg and the citizens, as COWI takes very seriously. And we are just now about to get a full overview of the situation together with the municipality. We are always ready to live up to our real responsibilities and the countries with the best possible solution with our customers.’
