The new mild-hybrid engine is a gasoline engine without the turbo on the 1.0-litre with three cylinders, and which provides 70 hp and has a torque of 92 Nm. The system recovers energy when the car brakes or decelerates, and stores it in a lithium battery with a capacity of 11 Ah.
The new mild-hybrid engine is combined with a six-speed manual gearbox.
Compared with the former engine of 1.2 liter with 69 hp, the new mild-hybrid engine better fuel efficiency, and on average reduces the CO2 emissions by 20 percent and by up to 30 percent for the Panda City Cross model.
Mild hybrid-the engine causes the gasoline engine automatically switches off when the car is put in neutral – even at speeds below 30 km/h. Instead, get the car all the energy from the lithium battery, which ensures that the driver has full control of the car and drive. The instrumentation, which also displays information about the hybrid system, automatically recommends the driver to shift into neutral, when circumstances allow it.
In many countries other than Denmark is this type of cars covered by the benefits as f.ex. legal or cheaper access to environmental zones in cities, cheap parking and lower charges. At home means the low emissions according to Fiat, the green ownership tax is expected to be dkk 500. a semi-annual basis.
