The incident occurred just before 10 p.m. on Tuesday night when the ship was less than 20 miles North of the Bahamas. The Coast Guard has diverted several crews from Miami to assist the Royal Bahamas Defense Force (RBDF) in the search efforts.

The cruise line is also providing support and assistance to the family of the missing passenger during this challenging time. To respect the privacy of the family, no further details have been shared at this time.

A video of the search operation was shared by a viewer onboard the Royal Caribbean ship, “Utopia.” The viewer mentioned that their ship was en route from Bimini to Coco Cay in the Bahamas when the captain announced that they were turning back to assist in locating the passenger who had fallen overboard. Currently, both RBDF and U.S. Coast Guard rescue crews are still actively searching for the missing woman, with the “Utopia” also joining in the search efforts by scanning the waters with search lights.
