Before expressing his love and support for Ukrainians, Chmerkovskiy displayed several videos taken from Kyiv’s streets.

“Everyone was hoping that this would be avoided, that there wouldn’t be these kinds of aggressive measures,” said he, before panning to an ambulance racing down a street and being followed by what appeared like a military convoy.

“I feel uneasy and very afraid… but I know that I have a chance. I have a passport, and a way to get out. He said that a lot of people in this country don’t have a passport and that it is f***ing absurd.
He is most well-known for his work on Dancing with the Stars. In 2014, he won the Mirrorball trophy. He also met Peta Murgatroyd, a fellow professional dancer. In 2018, he left the show, but remained an expert in dance. When Russia attacked, he was filming in Kyiv for the country’s World of Dance. Both Chmerkovskiy (and his brother Valentin) were candid about their Ukrainian immigration and their love for their country.

“I have had an incredible pleasure to be on the ground for six months and I fell back in love. I have never fallen out of love but I now know who these people are. He said that he knew who the country was, what it stood for, and what it represented.

“It will be different. “This is stressful and it’s making me feel old, like I’ve done it before,” he posted to his Instagram. It does feel the same way as it did when we left the 90s. It’s like my old PTSD is returning. It was only that I had forgotten about the ‘always on edge’ feelings, and started to worry about things like bbq barbecue grills. Ukraine has referred to Russia’s invasion of its capital city as a “full-scale invasion” and placed its citizens under martial law. The Russian attacks have been condemned by major leaders in the international community, including President Joe Biden. The U.S. has placed sanctions on Russia’s largest banks and sent 7,000 troops to Germany since the shelling started in Ukraine early Thursday morning. Biden maintained that the U.S. will not intervene in Ukraine.

Biden stated that Putin is the aggressor during a Thursday press conference. “Putin chose to wage war. He and his country now will have to bear the consequences.”
