A county fair is located in southwest Virginia. Last month, one woman took first, second, and third place for the best cookies.

She won all three awards for candy, savory bread and desserts.

She won the blue ribbon for best overall baked good, strawberry fudge, cake, pie and brownie.

It didn’t end there.

She won the award for can tomatoes, canned corn and pickled peppers. She was also awarded top honors for quilt embroidery. You’d be right to guess that she became viral after the Virginia Kentucky District Fair published these incredible results on Facebook in June.

She was praised in a song, in Facebook comments, and in lots of memes. All of which led to the inevitable question: Linda Skeens, who is this champion chef?

Mason Mousette hosts HOT 93.3 in Dallas. He said, “With online dating, whatnot, a lot of girls can track down people on the internet.”

Mousette asked her followers to help locate the Linda Skeens by posting a TikTok.

Skeens’ granddaughter spotted that and reached out. Mousette used that name to find Linda’s phone number.

Mousette said that she realized that everyone on the Internet wants her to cook for them. They want you to prepare Thanksgiving dinner and Christmas dinner for them.

Skeens’ reply? Skeens’ reply?

Skeens revealed that she was diagnosed in December with leukemia. However, she is doing well and that cooking for friends and family has helped her. Skeens was humbled by the comparisons she made to Dale Earnhardt, a NASCAR driver.

“Comparing myself to Dale Earnhardt Sr., i said that there was no way I could ever be in that category. She told HOT 93.3 that he is her hero.

Skeens might have been being too humble. Skeens admitted that she won 40 ribbons last year at a county fair.

This is a great way to enter all-time high territory.
