Not a trace of the body of Malén Ortiz ten years after his disappearance in Mallorca. The combing of the lot near the place where the 15-year-old girl disappeared has ended without success and the Civil Guard has concluded the operation that began this Monday. Civil Guard agents have searched the area with guide dogs sent from the peninsula and have removed earth with the help of excavators, but no traces of the presence of the young woman’s body have been found.

Malén Ortiz disappeared 10 years ago when she was going to her boyfriend’s house from high school. The young woman got off the bus at a stop in the Magaluf area and has never been heard from again. The Civil Guard has resumed the search for her body this week on suspicion that she could have been buried in a plot near the bus stop where she was last seen.

A man with psychological problems had a booth in the area, who was already investigated 10 years ago without any direct accusation being reached due to the lack of conclusive evidence. This man, who is now around 70 years of age, is once again on the Civil Guard radar since a few years ago he threatened other young women in the same area where Malén disappeared.

In any case, the investigators find themselves in a difficult alley since the man was admitted a few years ago to a psychiatric hospital for mental problems, something that can complicate the resolution of the case, according to Ultima Hora. The man, a Spanish citizen, worked for years as an artist manager in Hollywood.

Back in Majorca, he usually lived in a nearby hotel, but every day he went to the farm that has now been searched; there he had a booth where he kept memories of his time in the United States. He was unsuccessfully investigated after the disappearance of the young woman and shortly after the alarms sounded again after that threat to some minors in the same area.

When he was questioned by the agents, his mental problems became evident and he was diagnosed with a split personality disorder. He has been admitted to a center in the province of Malaga for years.
