Stretching the gum has become one of the spaces preferred by celebrities to talk about their experiences, anecdotes and share moments of their lives. The podcast presented by Victoria Martín and Carolina Iglesias has begun its fifth season and different luxury guests have already passed through its panel, including the mothers of the collaborators and the actress Inma Cuesta.
The Valencian artist, known for different television works such as La novia, Águila Roja or 3 Bodas de más, has visited the radio program to talk about her life, feminism and her career as an actress.
Inma amusedly shared some anecdotes of when she returned to her town after spending a season in the big city working as an actress and her mother encouraged her to dress up and look better due to social pressure: ”My mother saw me put on a hat and told me ‘Don’t wear it, let’s see what they’re going to say…’ and I’m like ‘it’s a hat, what are they going to think about me wearing a hat?’ I, who don’t usually put on makeup or anything every day, my mother told me: ‘We’re going to go to the plaza to buy and they’ll see you with that face, how pretty you look on TV. Make up”’.
The Valencian has made it clear that her mother suffered thinking that people could ‘lower’ her from that high bar in which they had her when they saw her so beautiful on the small screen, but that she has always been very carefree about those things.
”One day a man, without me asking him anything, at a party told me ”what’s the trick? Because you look like a woman on TV, so pretty, so such and look here”, to which I was surprised and did not know how to react,” says Inma Cuesta to the astonishment of the presenters.
The woman wanted to share this story to make visible something more than everyday in the lives of many actresses, since people do not walk down the street with filters and television is highly produced, but that does not give anyone the right to comment on beauties or foreign bodies.
