The Madrid athlete Carla García has denounced through her Twitter account the harassment she has suffered while training in a park in Madrid. The hurdler, Spanish sub-23 400m hurdles champion, has explained how a middle-aged man has hidden behind a fence to record it with his mobile phone.

Despite the fact that he has reproached him for his attitude and has asked him to stop taking photos and recording it, the stranger has maintained his attitude, which according to the 21-year-old athlete had an obvious sexual component.

“I was doing series in the park. I was wearing a top and short tights. A man in his 50s hid behind a fence two meters from me to take photos of me. I asked him to stop and he continued. Disgusting”, has pointed out.

Other athletes who train in public spaces have denounced similar events. Last year, the marcher Inês Henriques explained how a man followed her when she was on a route through the municipality of Rio Maior and ended up showing her his genitals when she made a stop.
