A dozen fire departments from the Madrid City Council have gone to the Cañada Real Galiana to put out a fire that occurred this Tuesday, which has affected several substandard homes in the area, which have been without electricity for a long time.
The firefighters have developed a “defensive strategy” to prevent the spread and, once the fire was confined, the flames were extinguished, reports Madrid Emergencies. The objective was that the flames would not spread through more substandard housing and more families would be affected.
Sanitary workers from Samur-Civil Protection traveled to the scene of the events, which have remained in preventive action without it being necessary for them to have to attend to any wounded.
In addition, agents of the National Police and the Municipal Police of Madrid kept the area cordoned off during the extinction work.
