The Government of the Generalitat de Catalunya has announced that this summer it will send checks for 100 to families with children in primary education. They will come home and must be spent to buy school supplies. The measure, universal, will be applied to public and subsidized schools and the checks must be spent before November 30.

The specific details of how the initiative will work, advanced by RAC1, are still unknown, beyond the fact that it will be 100 euros per child who attends primary school in public and subsidized centers and that the checks, which will arrive at home and which can be spent in those shops to join the initiative to buy school supplies, notebooks or backpacks. The vouchers will have to be spent before November 30 and the aid will apply to students who attend primary school in the 2023-24 academic year.

The measure seeks to alleviate the consequences that high inflation has on families and responds to an announcement made months ago by the Government itself. Then Aragonés had announced that the help would be made through the income statement and would only be for needy families. The measure will thus benefit nearly half a million boys and girls.

The Government has already begun to ask the schools for the addresses of the total number of benefited students to send the vouchers.
