The British band Blur will offer a free concert tonight at La Riviera for holders of the Primavera Sound Madrid festival ticket or the ticket corresponding to this Thursday, after the cancellation of the outdoor concerts due to bad weather conditions.

The British, who were the headliners for this opening day, will play in this covered concert hall with a much smaller capacity than that of the City of Rock (2,500 people according to its website compared to 80,000 at the Arganda facilities) to those who book after 4:00 p.m. in the Accessticket application.

Thursday ticket holders will be able to come another day of their choice regardless of whether they access a concert in the hall today, the organizers of Primavera Sound indicate on their social networks. Only one ticket per person can be reserved.

The doors for Blur are scheduled to open at 8:00 p.m., while the Boiler Room x CUPRA program will take place at The Bassement, with doors opening at 5:00 p.m., also by reservation.

The organization responsible for the first edition of the Primavera Sound festival in Madrid reported on Wednesday that the opening day scheduled for this Thursday was suspended due to “persistent inclement weather”, which is expected to continue in the coming hours and affect the opening .

The statement published on the event’s official Twitter profile attributes it specifically to the fact that the weather conditions in recent weeks “have affected the pre-production of the festival”, as well as the “adverse forecast expected for Thursday, with strong thunderstorms during the afternoon”.

On Wednesday the free concert was held, conceived as a welcome party at the Metropolitano stadium, which had the Pet Shop Boys as main protagonists in a memorable concert.
