The celebration of small or large fairs in the whole of Catalonia will grow by 18.5% in 2023 compared to the previous year, according to the forecasts of the General Directorate of Commerce of the Generalitat. The data presented in the framework of the 30th Congrés de Fires, held in Vendrell, indicate that the forecast is to close the year with a total of 65 state and international events.
With regard to global trade fair data, regardless of the format, it is expected to reach 427 halls by the end of the year. In addition, visitor data for 2022 has also been released at the congress: there were 5.2 million attendees, a figure that represents recovering 65.4% of the activity that existed before the pandemic.
As regards the events incorporated into the Catalan calendar throughout the year, the Federació de Fires de Catalunya highlights Shoptalk, MetalBarcelona and Robomà tica, DeGustaAnoia, aresme EcoConstruïm and Mediterranien Gluten Free.
The president of the federation, Corall Cinyat, has highlighted the recovery of the sector after the effects of the covid and has urged political leaders to “commit to the maximum” with the holding of salons during the new legislatures that will begin on June 17 .
