Estimem Premià-Junts-Municipal Compromise (EP-CM) and Esquerra Republicana de Catalunya-Municipal Agreement (ERC-AM) have closed a government agreement for the 2023-2027 mandate in the Premià de Mar Town Hall. In this way, Rafa Navarro will be mayor again and the republican Pep Ripollès will debut as first deputy mayor. JxCat won seven councilors, two more than in 2015 and ERC lost two, leaving with three.

Initially, the negotiations pointed to a reissue of the current government pact between JxCat and the PSC, which obtained four councilors, but the current head of the socialist list, Luz Cánovas, behind the back of Rafa Navarro, tried to wrest the mayoralty from him by forcing a pact to three , between PSC (4), CP Amunt (3), En Comú Podem (2) to later incorporate ERC. However, the maneuver went wrong and generated great mistrust in the post-convergents, who decided not to reissue the government pact with the Socialists and offer the government pact to ERC.

The socialist maneuver to put aside the force with the most votes and which has left the socialists in the opposition has not gone down well with a large part of the local militancy either, which in its day already reluctantly accepted the forced replacement of the candidate, David Gutiérrez, who will say goodbye this Saturday as first deputy mayor. On this occasion, the criticism points to the leadership of the local and regional executive, which is already beginning to be held accountable for the failed strategy that leaves them out of government.

The agreement between JxCAt and ERC proposes inclusive policies for the next four years to guarantee social rights; prioritize the ecological transition in the face of climate change; the promotion of policies focused on the cohesion of neighborhoods and the promotion of commerce and local companies; guarantee equality and the fight against homophobia and racism; and, finally, work in a cohesive way with the municipalities of the region.

From the merger of the electoral programs of Estimem Premià and ERC-AM, both formations have established the main lines of the Pla d’Acció Municipal 2023-2027 and have agreed how the strategic issues of the city will be addressed jointly and cohesively . Both formations have also defined the organizational chart that will allow them to deal with the signed agreement. Rafa Navarro will be re-elected Mayor of Premià de Mar and Pep Ripollès will assume the first Tenure of Mayor.

It should be noted that Estimem Premià was the winning force in the recent municipal elections, in which it obtained 7 councillors; PSC-CP obtained 4; CKD-AM 3; CP-UP 3; PECP-E 2; PP 1 and C’s 1.
