The Lleida Philosophy professor, accused of sexual abuse of a minor student, has been provisionally separated from the institute where he worked, pending trial. He will not have contact with minors. This is a decision made by the Department of Education, which has decided to act after learning that the teacher had won the place in the merit contest to stabilize the interim.
Next September this professor will begin the course in another destination that the department has not specified.
The teacher is pending trial for the alleged touching of a former student in August 2020 who, at the time of the events, was 17 years old.
The man invited the minor to his house with the excuse of providing her with some books and there he would have abused, as the minor explained. After the complaint, the professor left the Màrius Torres institute, but continued to teach at another during the years 2021, 2022 and the first semester of 2023.
The new Minister of Education, Anna Simó, already explained at the end of last July that the application of precautionary measures against this teacher was being studied.
The educational inspection and the departmental services inspection have studied the application of precautionary measures, such as a change of assignment and functions.
The Prosecutor’s Office asks for the defendant two and a half years in prison.
