The temperatures remain “significantly high” in a large part of Spain this Thursday, as the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has alerted, adding that there is the possibility of a locally strong storm in the Pyrenees and intervals of strong winds in The strait.
It should be noted that the minimum temperatures will increase in the northwest third of the peninsula and western Andalusia. On the other hand, the maximums will also rise in the extreme north, notable in the Cantabrian Sea, it will even be with an “extraordinary” increase in the Basque Country.
In the rest of Spain no significant changes are expected. In this sense, it is expected to reach 34-36 degrees in practically the entire interior of the peninsula and the Balearic Islands, including 38-40 in a large part of the Atlantic slope, depressions in the northeast and inland Cantabrian.
As for cloudiness, in most of the country there will be mostly cloudless or clear skies with high clouds, except for low morning clouds on the coasts of Galicia, the western Cantabrian Sea, the Strait, Melilla and the Balearic Islands. The Aemet has announced the possibility of some morning precipitation in the north of Galicia.
In the afternoon there will be abundant evolutionary cloudiness in large areas of the northern interior third, with possible scattered showers and storms, which will be more likely in the mountains, especially in the Pyrenees environment, where they can be locally strong.
In the Canary Islands there will be cloudy intervals and abundant medium and high cloudiness, without ruling out a shower or storm on the higher relief islands. The Aemet prediction also included possible banks of morning fog and high haze on the Galician, Cantabrian and Strait coasts.
Finally, the Levante wind will blow in Alborán and, with strong intervals, in the Strait and a northeasterly wind on the northwest and southeast coasts. In the rest the winds will be light, from the north in the Canary Islands, from the southeast and south at central hours in much of the interior of the peninsula and variable in the rest.
